Writ filed against PDA on Upper Karnali Hydel

KATHMANDU, SEP 24 - A writ petition has been filed at Supreme Court against the project development agreement (PDA) on Upper Karnali Hydropower project on Wednesday.

Dambar Rawal, on behalf of 36 locals from the upper Karnali region, filed the writ demanding the repeal of the PDA with certiorari, reasoning it was incompatible with interim constitution, existing laws and acts.

Petitioner Rawal shared that the hearing for the writ was scheduled on October 12.

Nepal had reached the PDA on Upper Karnali with Indian company, GMR, on September 19.
